PEFC is the hallmark for sustainable forest management.
The international PEFC-certification assures that wood and paper products come from a sustainably managed forest, which is as much focus on people, planet and profit. PEFC's objective is that the world's forests are sustainably managed.
The PEFC label has a Sustainable Ruler of sustainable forest management drawn up on the basis of international principles. PEFC tests whether national standards meet this yardstick. The assessment is a comprehensive process.National certification schemes that are approved fall under the PEFC label.Currently 38 countries are members of PEFC and more than 35 of these countries have an approved forest stand with sustainable forest management.Every 5 years the national standards are again revised and re-tested. Thus the forest position earths are continuously improved, PEFC is unique in this. The international Sustainable Rod himself is regularly updated.
